Well folks, the first annual Lats&Atts Pacific Sail Expo party may have been a last minute shindig, but it was a rousing success.

The folks at Sail Expo asked if we could do for Oakland what we did for the St. Pete sail Expo with our little “Cruisers Party.” It was too late to advertise it in the mag, as we’d already gone to press, so we asked our friends over at The Log Newspapers and 48° North to co-sponsor by giving it a little ink. They did, and the people came.

The good folks at Sailnet.com have agreed to help sponsor all of the free parties we throw for cruisers, to show their appreciation the cruising community, and this was the first one we have worked together. At this show the folks at the Watermaker Store in San Diego also helped us put this together, along with the good folks at Sail America.

Of course we had Eric Stone on hand to handle the entertainment, and he even had some help from Tommy T. on the harmonica.

The food was dished up by the vendors at the show, and no one went away hungry. There was plenty of cold beer, and, of course, it was all free.

We are looking forward to next years free cruisers party at the Pacific Sail Expo, and expect it will grow as fast and as large as the ones we throw in St. Pete and Catalina!
